SUMMARY:Fireside Chat: A Conversation with The Opposite of Cheating Authors
DESCRIPTION:In July\, Rutgers instructors and staff came together for weekly conversations on academic integrity in the era of Generative AI. As part of those discussions\, we also explored The Opposite of Cheating by Drs. Bertram Gallant and Rettinger.  Now\, we’re excited to continue the conversation with a special “fireside chat” featuring the authors themselves. They’ll share their perspectives on cheating and Generative AI\, especially in light of how much has changed since the book’s publication. Audience members are encouraged to submit questions in advance and bring their own to the live session.  This session fulfills Competencies 2 and 3 of the Teaching and Generative AI Pathways Program.  \nREGISTER

SUMMARY:Students Speak: How GenAI is Shaping the Learning Experience
DESCRIPTION:What is it like to navigate college with Generative AI in the mix? In this 75-minute virtual panel\, Rutgers students will offer an honest look at how GenAI tools shape the way they learn\, study\, and interact with coursework. From practical benefits to unexpected hurdles\, panelists will share what’s working\, what’s not\, and what they wish instructors better understood about their experiences with AI in the classroom.  \nThis session fulfills Competencies 1 and 3 of the Teaching and Generative AI Pathways Program.  \nREGISTER

SUMMARY:Tea & Teaching AI and Academic Integrity
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a conversation with Melissa Backus\, Associate Director Office of Student Conduct and Julie Peters\, Director of the Carey Library at the School of Management and Labor Relations about academic integrity and AI usage. Over the past year\, many of us have experienced an uptick in academic integrity violations due to student AI usage. Whether it be the use of generative AI to complete writing assignments\, the fabrication of sources from AI generated searches\, or the use of AI to complete important equations\, problems and assignments needed to complete course learning goals\, students have been turning to AI in ways that could often violate our university Academic Integrity Policy.
