SUMMARY:Introduction to Learning Analytics May Cohort
DESCRIPTION:This series of sessions will be offered by the Office Teaching Evaluation and Assessment Research: \nThe Introduction to Learning Analytics for Instructors is an asynchronous learning opportunity to support instructors in starting to build their capacity around learning analytics. Topics include defining learning analytics\, ethical considerations\, limitations\, the impact of course design\, and an introduction to New Analytics in Canvas. A digital badge can be earned through the completion of all module activities and assignments. The program is open to all Rutgers faculty and instructional staff at no cost. \nSome activities are designed to provide opportunities for discussion with colleagues\, and therefore\, the module will be run in two-week cohorts\, once per month. \nREGISTER

DESCRIPTION:This virtual workshop is one of two repeat sessions hosted by the Institute of Teaching\, Innovation\, and Inclusive Pedagogy and co-sponsored with the Office of Summer & Winter Sessions.\n\nAre you teaching a course at Rutgers this summer? Join the Institute for Teaching\, Innovation\, and Inclusive Pedagogy for one of two gatherings designed specifically to discuss and share effective teaching practices that support student learning in an accelerated time frame. The director of Summer & Winter Sessions will also be available during these sessions to answer any logistical questions that may arise.\nPlease register to attend either the April 22nd or May 6th session as similar content will be discussed at each one. DESCRIPTION:Offered by the Office of Teaching Evaluation and Assessment Research (OTEAR): \nDoes your teaching portfolio present strong evidence showcasing your teaching success? Is the teaching philosophy clear and well-matched with your instructional goals? In this workshop we provide a rubric for evaluating teaching portfolios and assign participants to small teams to peer review their portfolios and document effective strategies and presentation of evidence. We will share results so that all participants can see the best strategies and learn from each other. This workshop is meant for those who can bring a draft portfolio to share with others.
