This session explores mitigation and prevention strategies\, both in the TA role and the lead instructor role. This session is part of the Improving Your Teaching Skills certificate program for graduate students and postdocs.  \nAudience: Graduate students and/or postdocs (register through the link below or under “Website” at the bottom of this page)  \nREGISTER

SUMMARY:Evaluating AI Output: How to Discern Accuracy\, Reasoning\, and Framing
DESCRIPTION:Brought to you by the Rutgers University Libraries: \nGenerative AI tools produce output that sounds confident and well-reasoned — but sounding right and being right are not the same thing. This workshop introduces Discernment\, one of four core competencies in the AI Fluency Framework\, as a structured way to evaluate AI-generated content across three dimensions: factual accuracy\, quality of reasoning\, and framing. Participants will practice applying this lens to real examples\, moving beyond simple fact-checking to identify subtler errors in logic and perspective. \nThis session can be applied toward Competency 3 of the Teaching and Generative AI Pathways Program and is open to Rutgers University staff and instructors of all ranks\, appointment types\, and disciplines. \nFacilitator: Joanne Dera (Science Librarian) \nREGISTER \nThis is an online event. Event URL will be sent via registration email.
