DESCRIPTION:Facilitated by the Office of Teaching Evaluation and Assessment Research: \nThe Introduction to Learning Analytics for Instructors is an asynchronous learning opportunity to support instructors in starting to build their capacity around learning analytics. This interactive session dives into that question by introducing the AI Assessment Scale (AIAS) (Perkins et al.\, 2024)\, a flexible\, practical tool for crafting assessments that are transparent\, ethical\, and effective across disciplines. We’ll explore real-world examples and take part in hands-on\, collaborative activities. Participants will also get a chance to try out the AIAS Chatbot available on OpenAI\, putting the framework into action with their own course materials. You’ll learn the fundamentals of setting up your course in Canvas and creating assignments and assessments. We’ll explore how to navigate the Canvas interface\, add content to modules (files\, videos\, links\, etc.)\, upload your syllabus\, and communicate with students. You’ll also learn how to create Assignments and Discussions\, set up rubrics\, manage group work\, and use SpeedGrader and the gradebook to provide feedback and track student progress.
