SUMMARY:Virtual Presentations: 2024 – 2025 TIIP Co-Intelligence Exploration Teaching Fellows
DESCRIPTION:The Co-Intelligence Exploration Teaching Fellowship was a special initiative for the 2024 – 2025 academic year run by the Institute for Teaching\, Innovation\, and Inclusive Pedagogy inviting instructors across disciplines and schools to develop course activities that demonstrate how co-intelligence can advance student learning. During this virtual session three of the fellows will share their course implementations and invite Q&A from the audience. The remainder fellows will share their projects later. Please join us to learn from colleagues who are navigating the current GenAI landscape and hear their lessons learned! \n  \nPresentation Schedule: \n10:30 – 11 am – Prof. Jeremy Morgan\, Marketing \nFor Professor Morgan’s course\, students learned to utilize generative AI tools such as ChatGPT to enhance their marketing skills. \n11 – 11:30 am – Prof. Xenia Morin\, Agriculture & Food Systems \nThrough class activities\, Professor Morin explored the impact AI tools can have on student writing outcomes using ChatGPT\, or another free AI tool\, compared to a paid platform. \n11:30 am – 12:30 pm – Break \n12:30 – 1 pm – Prof. Sid Roy\, Environmental Sciences \nIn this project\, Professor Roy’s students generated a field sampling plan and analyzed data collected from the field to assist overburdened or environmental justice communities facing water contamination or other pollution issues. \nAudience: Open to Lecturers\, Teaching Faculty/NTT\, Tenure-Line Faculty\, Postdocs\, Graduate Student Instructors \nREGISTER

SUMMARY:Introduction to Learning Analytics May Cohort
DESCRIPTION:This series of sessions will be offered by the Office Teaching Evaluation and Assessment Research: \nThe Introduction to Learning Analytics for Instructors is an asynchronous learning opportunity to support instructors in starting to build their capacity around learning analytics. Topics include defining learning analytics\, ethical considerations\, limitations\, the impact of course design\, and an introduction to New Analytics in Canvas. A digital badge can be earned through the completion of all module activities and assignments. The program is open to all Rutgers faculty and instructional staff at no cost. \nSome activities are designed to provide opportunities for discussion with colleagues\, and therefore\, the module will be run in two-week cohorts\, once per month. \nREGISTER

Join the Institute for Teaching\, Innovation\, and Inclusive Pedagogy for one of two gatherings designed specifically to discuss and share effective teaching practices that support student learning in an accelerated time frame. DESCRIPTION:Offered by the Office of Teaching Evaluation and Assessment Research (OTEAR): \nDoes your teaching portfolio present strong evidence showcasing your teaching success? Is the teaching philosophy clear and well-matched with your instructional goals? In this workshop we provide a rubric for evaluating teaching portfolios and assign participants to small teams to peer review their portfolios and document effective strategies and presentation of evidence. We will share results so that all participants can see the best strategies and learn from each other. This workshop is meant for those who can bring a draft portfolio to share with others.
