Below is information about a new classroom enrichment funding opportunity available to instructors at Rutgers University-New Brunswick!
The Office of the Provost is pleased to offer modest funding for classroom enrichment activities such as field trips, guest speakers, or other special programming. The Academic Master Plan and Discovery Advantage report highlight the value of activities that offer rich hands-on experiences and/or interactions with different communities. Such activities help students connect course content with the world beyond the classroom.
Enrichment activities supported through this program must be associated with an undergraduate course taught at Rutgers–New Brunswick. They should be clearly connected to learning goals and integrated into the course through preparation and follow-up, while going beyond a typical classroom experience.
Funding is limited, and proposals will be accepted on a monthly cycle: proposals received by 11:59pm on the first day of each month will be reviewed within approximately 10 days. Note that payment requests often take several weeks to process, so please allow plenty of time before your activity.
We welcome innovative activities that enhance student learning. Examples of items that may be funded include but are not limited to:
- Tickets for museums or performances
- Local transportation (e.g., charter bus, NJ Transit)
- Honoraria for outside speakers
- Other creative activities that provide interactions and/or hands-on experiences beyond a typical classroom experience
- Expendable supplies or services that are directly related to the proposed activity
