Alissa Persad

Alissa Persad is a Graduate Student Coordinator for the Institute for Teaching, Innovations, and Inclusive Pedagogy at Rutgers University. In this role, she leads workshops and co-leads a seminar course to help new teaching assistants and graduate students improve their classroom teaching skills. Alissa is a PhD Candidate and teaching assistant in the Civil Engineering department. She teaches laboratory courses that give students hands-on experience working with building materials to help their understanding of structural design. When she is not working in the civil lab, she enjoys crocheting, cooking, and spending time with friends.
