Information for Class Visitors

• Open Doors Week: Monday, October 12 – Friday, October 16
• Location: Open classrooms are available across all five campuses. Location details will be shared upon sign-up.
• Audience: This opportunity is open to Rutgers–New Brunswick instructors of all appointment types.

Registration will close on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

• Sign-Up Confirmation: Upon reserving your spot to visit a class, Microsoft Bookings will automatically add the session to your Outlook calendar and send you a confirmation email containing all necessary information, including location details.
• Communication: Facilitators automatically receive your registration details, so you do not need to reach out to the class instructor or the TIIP team to confirm. You may or may not hear directly from the class instructor prior to class—some instructors will choose to share relevant materials ahead of time, while others will welcome you on the day of the visit.
• During Your Class Visit: Please arrive 10–15 minutes prior to the start of the class and briefly let the instructor know that you are present. Feel free to take notes for your own professional growth during the session. To maintain student privacy and respect the teaching environment, please do not take photos or record videos during your visit unless you have obtained permission.
• Canceling Your Visit: If needed, kindly cancel your visit through your Microsoft Bookings email confirmation. Simply click “Reschedule”, then “Cancel booking”. This instantly releases the spot for another colleague and automatically updates facilitators. If you lose your email confirmation, please send a quick email to TIIP (TeachingInstitute@rutgers.edu) with your name and the session you can no longer attend.

Closing Gathering

Class visitors are invited to join us on Wednesday, October 28, from 2 – 3:30 pm, for an informal post-initiative reflection gathering to discuss insights from class visits and to connect with other Open Doors participants. We will accept guests in the order that forms are received until capacity is reached. Location forthcoming for those who secure a spot. We hope to see you there!
