Overview
Are you looking to connect with fellow lecturers at Rutgers? Then we invite you to join the Lecturer Faculty Community, a supportive, interdisciplinary space to exchange ideas and discuss effective teaching practices! Throughout each semester, there will be monthly gatherings for which you will be asked to submit topics of interest in advance. The dates and times for these gatherings are determined based on the members’ schedules.
Whether seeking inspiration, new strategies, or a sense of community, you will find this space a valuable resource for professional growth.

This community is open to all Lecturers at Rutgers–New Brunswick and welcomes new members on a rolling basis, with no deadline to join.

Job Advancement Opportunity
In 2019, Rutgers University implemented a promotion process for Lecturers. Eligible part-time faculty may apply for advancement to the rank of Lecturer II and Lecturer III. Successful applicants receive a 10 percent salary increase at each rank, plus other benefits. Applications for advancement are accepted each fall and spring.
Professional Development Fund
Funds for lecturers are available for research, conference expenses, workshops, and specific classroom materials. In 2022, nearly 80 lecturers received Professional Development Fund awards, and funding totaled more than $100,635. Awards are funded by the Office of the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. Applications are accepted each fall, and awards are announced each spring.
