TIIP’s First Semester Recap

As we start the new year, we’re reflecting on what we’ve accomplished during our first semester at the Institute for Teaching, Innovation, and Inclusive Pedagogy. We celebrate our institute turning almost seven months old! We’re feeling a bit reflective about what we’ve been up to and immense gratitude for everyone who has supported our efforts including administrative leadership, our advisory board, campus partners, search committee members, and numerous instructors:

  • Digital Presence: We launched the teaching.rutgers.edu website, a newsletter, and this LinkedIn site to help instructors learn about campus initiatives and resources for teaching.
  • Our Team: We welcomed two new team members, Administrative Coordinator, Celina Deflorimonte and Social Media and Marketing Student Fellow, Rutgers University–New Brunswick senior Namira Asif. As of January, our team has expanded to include two Assistant Directors; Jamie Kim, Assistant Director of Teaching Development and Crystal Quillen, Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning Scholarship. and several Student Pedagogical Partner Fellows.
  • Partnerships: We’ve collaborated with many campus partners across the university to better support instructors in their teaching efforts. Rutgers Office of Teaching Evaluation and Assessment Research
  • Initiatives: We created many opportunities for instructors to hold important conversations and discuss instructional approaches that support student success. We launched a GenAI pathways program and a faculty fellowship program. We facilitated a community read and provided individual support and feedback to instructors.
  • Research: We’ve launched a few research projects. Stay tuned!

All of this wouldn’t have been possible without the leadership of our director, Tracie Addy, and the collaborative spirit of our team and campus partners.

As we look ahead to 2025, we’re excited to continue growing. Thank you for being part of our journey.
