Registration is open for our annual Course Design Institute!
This event will take place onsite at the College Ave campus this May 18-20, 2026.
The Course Design Institute (CDI) is a three-day collaborative experience designed to help instructors navigate the evolving higher education landscape. Throughout the CDI workshops, instructors learn evidence-based practices to incorporate into their teaching and receive guidance as they redesign their courses with a focus on inclusivity, student success, and intentionality. Across the three-day Institute, each day balances expert-led presentations with peer collaboration in small groups and dedicated time for instructors to actively workshop their course materials.
We are excited to share that this year’s theme is “The Power of ‘You Choose'”. Our sessions at the upcoming CDI will provide instructors with practical strategies for integrating meaningful student choice into their course structure while remaining aligned with their teaching values.
We are incredibly proud to offer this Institute to the Rutgers University–New Brunswick community. We aim to go beyond professional development, seeing this Institute as a community-building experience for our participants as well. All Rutgers-New Brunswick instructors who are teaching during the 2026-2027 academic year are eligible to join, at no cost.
