Teaching Tech Toolkit Series: Introduction to Canvas

In this workshop, we will discuss the different tools available in Canvas to create a consistent and clear course site for students to navigate. You’ll learn the fundamentals of setting up your course in Canvas and creating assignments and assessments. We’ll explore how to navigate the Canvas interface, add content to modules (files, videos, links, etc.), upload your syllabus, and communicate with students. You’ll also learn how to create Assignments and Discussions, set up rubrics, manage group work, and use SpeedGrader and the gradebook to provide feedback and track student progress. This session is part of TIIP’s Improving Your Teaching Skills certificate program for graduate students and postdocs.
